CALL FOR ENTRY
CHERRY BLOSSOMS: A TEXTILE TRANSLATION
April 17 – 29, 2012

fibreEssence is delighted once again to be part of the positive energy that the cherry tree is said to generate. This will be our fourth exhibition of textile art based on the cherry blossom theme. The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival has become an international event and will include us in their promotions. The Silk Purse Gallery, 1570 Argyle Ave, West Vancouver, has invited us back again this year! The lovely ocean-side location is perfect for several events being planned in conjunction with our exhibition. The gallery has big windows which limit wall space, so we request that entries be 48” wide or smaller. Follow the cherry blossom theme using anything from real petals to the suggestion of pink in an abstract design. Functional objects as well as wall pieces are welcome….original work only.

Submission Deadline: March 19, 2012
Please submit digital images by email (jpg) to jvillett@hotmail.com or on a CD by mail. Either must arrive with a completed entry form for each piece, an artists biography, and a $15 entry fee cheque payable to fibreEssence. (FibreEssence members exempt registration)
Please send a page of colour photos of your other work to add to the artists binder.

You may submit up to 3 items, with a full view and close-up of each. It is possible that only 1 item will be chosen per person, depending on the number of entries..
Please note: If, upon arrival, the actual item varies greatly from the image or doesn’t meet our technical standards, it may be refused. Items must be ready to hang.

Due to our current financial position, accepted work must be shipped at the artists’ expense both ways. Please specify how you want it returned: pick-up or COD
